Ride Along Toys

I’m trying to find a kid’s book I read in the late 80’s …?
I can’t remember the author or the title, and only scraps of plot. I know it’s a long shot, but it’s something I’d like to be able to find.
Please bear with me here, I read this sucker a long time ago. If I recall correctly, the main character was a young girl, and she got invited to a special ‘magic’ house. I think the house adapted to each kid there, and basically you’d have all the toys you wanted (I think when the main character gets to the house, there’s an old carved wooden duck in her room, though she lost it years ago), all your favorite foods, etc.
There’s an undercurrent of tension throughout the book, but pretty soon things turn scary and it’s an escape-from-creepy-evil-magic-house kinda thing. I think kids started disappearing. Or something. I think there was a lake. Maybe a few weird creatures along for the ride?
I know it’s next to nothing to go on, but it sounds familiar, please take a stab at it.

This sounds like The Thief of Always. I think the main character was a boy, however. But everything else fits just right.
